Zoren wants to marry Carmina
Zoren Legaspi hopes to marry partner of 14 years Carmina Villarroel after problems on her annulment are finally resolved.
Carmina’s marriage to Rustom Padilla (now BB Gandanghari) was annulled in 2002, four years after she filed a petition for annulment. Zoren said that marriage was elusive for him and Carmina due to these technicalities.
“Noong hiwalay niya, nakita ko yung pain na dinadaanan niya. Hinayaan ko muna. Ngayong nagdecide na ako to formalize everything, meron naman problema yung legalities, yung paper. Iyon naman ang naging problema, so nahadlangan na naman,” Zoren said in an interview on Showbiz Inside Report on Saturday, August 18.
He added, “Ngayong taon lang talaga nafinalize na truly 100% annulled siya.”
Zoren, who has twin children -- Cassy and Mavy – by Carmina, thinks the only thing lacking in their relationship is marriage.
“Iyon yung tingin kong kulang na lang sa buhay niya. Hopefully, maganap itong taon yung formality.”
Postponed proposal
He added that he was supposed to propose to Carmina during their trip to Japan earlier this year. But he postponed his proposal since he wasn’t able to buy a wedding ring. He explained that his plan was to propose under cherry blossom trees, which Carmina loves to see.
“Noong nag-Japan kami, gusto niyang makita ang cherry blossom. Naramdaman kong iyon na siguro ang opportunity na magkaroon ng formal proposal na under the cherry blossom. Noong time na naisip ko iyon, it was too late for me to buy a ring here. Sabi ko mas maganda na sa Japan na rin ako bibili. Noong bibili na ako, hindi ko pala na-activate yung credit card. ” he said.
He believes that their individual careers do not affect their relationship. Zoren doesn’t mind if Carmina has more work than he does, since he thinks he is better in taking care of their household.
“No. Kung meron mang nagdidirect sa buhay namin, talagang inilagay ako sa bahay, siya naman yung magtatrabaho. Kasi feeling ko mas magaling siya magtrabaho, ako naman mas mahahandle ko ang bahay. Kapag ako busy, siya naman hindi,” Zoren said.
Unusual relationship
In the same interview, Carmina said that theirs is not a typical relationship. But they get along fine despite that.
“Hindi siya yung pangkaraniwang relasyon. Pangkaraniwan siyang partner, asawa, boyfriend. Sobrang swak siya sa akin naiintindihan niya ako, hinahayaan niyang maging ako. Hindi rin ako magigigng ganito, kung hindi dahil sa kanya.”
