The dad who threw her out and the aunt who supported her following the falling out with her dad are zipping their lips on singer Maegan Aguilar’s latest ordeal.

Photos of Maegan in a neck brace and sitting up on a hospital gurney were posted on Facebook on Saturday, Nov. 8.

She allegedly sustained the injuries following an altercation with domestic partner Ali Sanchez, the father of her youngest child and described as “an alcoholic that often reaches a violent black out state.”

Ka Freddie

Yahoo Philippines dropped in on Freddie Aguilar’s Ka Freddie’s folk bar on Tomas Morato in Quezon City Tuesday night to get his reaction.

But Aguilar refused to comment on his daughter’s ordeal.

He looked relaxed as he played billiards.

Marlene’s statement

Sought for comment, Maegan’s aunt Marlene Aguilar first said she would like time to think about what to say about Maegan’s case.

Then, she sent Yahoo a message reading: “I thought about it. And I've decided it was best for Maegan and all concerned that I don't issue any statement regarding her recent tragedy to the media. Thank you for understanding.”

Earlier, reacting to someone who had posted a news report on Meagan’s alleged beating by Ali Sanchez, Marlene was more forthright.

“I told Maegan to leave Ali, but she didn't listen. I would never understand why women would stay with a man who is jobless and violent,” she wrote.

Meagan spills

On Monday, Maegan detailed the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation with her partner.

She told Mario Dumaual of ABS-CBN that Ali first crashed her gig at Jet 7 Bistro in Quezon City in the early hours of Nov. 8.

Meagan tried to break up with him until he pleaded for a “proper goodbye.”

Tussle in condo

He was also said to have gone ballistic when he saw his parents in the bar the second time he attempted to seek out Maegan. (Meagan said she maintained good relations with Ali’s parents.)

Later, she said, she was surprised to see him in the condo they once shared, after instructing building security not to let him in.

The physical tussle happened after she led him out of the condo onto the lobby.

Barangay protection order

His attempts to give her a “bear hug” resulted in her being crushed in his arms.

"Kinarga ako, bumagsak ako, tumama itong right hip ko sa floor. Naipit yung kamay ko. Nahubad yung damit ko dahil naka-tube dress ako, kasi galing pa akong gig,” she told ABS-CBN.

Meagan’s friend called the police for help and the couple found themselves in a barangay hall where she was given a 15-day barangay protection order against Sanchez.

No charges

She refrained from filing charges after Ali’s mother pleaded with her not to.

“Give me a chance to bring Ali to a psychiatrist…but if he tries to visit you…then fine, you can press charges,” she supposedly told Meagan.

Later, on links to the reports that came out, Maegan said Ali’s mom tried to downplay Maegan’s alleged injuries by citing the absence of “broken anything” on the medical report.

For Ali’s sake

“Ano bang gusto niyang makita sa akin? Gusto niya bang ma-comatose ako before she actually says that her son hurt me?” she said. “Dahil ba sa nakakagalaw pa ako, okey pa yon?”

To other online bashers who have said that what happened to her was “karma,” Meagan responded, “Keber ko sa inyo.”

She said of the photos she posted, “It’s not for you; it’s for Ali to realize the extent of his violence when he goes into his blackout state.”

Love is not enough

When asked if she still loved Sanchez, Maegan teared up, shook her head, and then nodded in the end.

“Mahal,” she admitted.

“But love is not enough….”
