Karylle-Yael’s ‘inception’ unlocked: A wedding video within a music video

To those wondering why a video of Karylle and Yael’s wedding hasn’t surfaced yet, well, Sponge Cola just had it answered with… a music video.

Its latest single “Singapore Sling (Dahil Kilala na Kita)” carries the much-awaited wedding video of the newlyweds, released two days after Y+K tied the knot at the panoramic San Antonio de Padua Church in Silang, Cavite.

The onsite video shows the picture-perfect couple becoming goofy and giddy about the wedding which they earlier described as a “very musical affair.”

Peg for the wedding

In a previous interview, the Spongecola vocalist said “Singapore Sling” — which tells about the never-ending process of getting to know someone ("Dahil kilala na kita, handa na akong kilalanin ka pa. Dahil kasama na kita, ang nais ko lang makasama ka pa”) — was the peg for the wedding.

The latest single tells the story of the couple’s brief LDR, when Yael used to take the extra mile (more than a thousand miles, in fact) to visit Karylle in Singapore every three or four weeks while she was doing international TV series “Kitchen Musical” in 2011.

Star-studded

The star-studded “musical affair” also features some celebrities who attended the wedding—including Iza Calzado, Kris Aquino, and Divine Lee, as well as Karylle’s "It's Showtime" co-hosts Anne Curtis, Teddy Corpuz, Kim Atienza,  Billy Joe Crawford, Coleen Garcia and Vice Ganda.

Also spotted in the video were Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, Gary Valenciano and Amy Perez.

While Karylle was strikingly beautiful on her wedding day, it was hard to ignore Yael being such a cry baby on his big day.

The newlyweds are flying to London next month on their honeymoon. There, they’re set to watch the Eraserheads reunion concert in London on April 4.
