But that doesn’t free him from facing charges of malicious mischief and disobedience to a person in authority which a TV Patrol report that same day said was filed against him.

“Sisirain na niya yung sliding door, aawatin na siya ng mga pulis. So, lalo siyang uminit naman. Imbis na magpa-awat, tinulak niya,” a Taguig City police officer told TV Patrol.

‘My fault’

The “It’s Showtime” host has denied reports that he punched a female desk officer, leading to his arrest on Sunday, September 7. But Billy admitted he “had too many” drinks and needed a controlled environment to contain his aggression. His solution for this, he said, was to go to the police precinct.

“It was my fault. Pero wala akong nasaktan, wala akong tinulak. Wala akong tinamaan, kundi yung salamin,” he said in an interview with DZMM on Sunday.

Billy’s legal counsel Joe Aspiras, had another opinion, though. He said the actor-host went to the precinct “to seek help.”

Call for help

“He went to the police station to seek help. Meron yata siyang naka-trouble, some aggravation,” Aspiras said.

Billy’s manager Arnold Vegafria, on the other hand, said his talent is under stress from overwork. Besides “It’s Showtime,” which airs daily on ABS-CBN, Billy is doing the sequel of the movie “Moron 5 and the Crying Lady.”

"The schedule for legal proceedings will be announced at a later time," ALV Talent Circuit, which manages Billy’s career, said in a text message to Yahoo Philippines.

‘Pahinga ka muna’

Meanwhile, Billy and girlfriend Coleen Garcia will be taking a break from “It’s Showtime,” their noontime show on ABS-CBN.

“Alam naman natin ang nangyari sa kapatid natin na si Billy. In the meantime, hindi muna natin siya makakasama sa Showtime,” Kim Atienza said on the show, where the hosts prayed for Billy.

Fellow host Vhong Navarro added, “Billy, pahinga ka muna. Nandito lang kami para sa inyo. Hindi ka nag-iisa. We love you.”

The hosts also expressed support for Coleen.

“Coleen, baby girl, okay ka lang diyan. Just take a rest and we will be here for you,” Anne Curtis said.

Coleen’s support

Billy feels grateful for the support of Coleen, who went to the police station with her mother on Monday, September 8.

“It means the world to me. She’s been helping me out in the whole process,” Billy told TV Patrol.

Coleen defended her boyfriend in social media by saying that Billy did not hit a woman.
