It's finally here: the Bb Pilipinas 2014 coronation night is happening on March 30, Sunday, 7pm, at the Araneta Coliseum.

40 candidates are vying for five crowns:

Miss Universe Philippines
Bb Pilipinas International
Bb Pilipinas Supranational
Bb Pilipinas Tourism
Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental

This new crop of queens will inherit the titles from the current slate of winners:

Miss Universe 2013 3rd Runner-Up Ariella Arida
Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago
Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul
Miss Tourism International 2013 finalist Joanna Cindy Miranda

Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler and Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart are in the country to witness the event. Russian pop star Emin will serenade the beautiful candidates.

Philippines alarmed over China arrest of alleged Filipino spies
The Philippines expressed alarm on Saturday over the arrest of three Filipinos in China on suspicion of espionage, saying they were ordinary citizens and the arrests could be retaliation for Manila's crackdown against alleged Chinese spies.
